11 Jun SAFERtec @ ITS European Congress 2019
SAFERtec project participated in two Special Interest Sessions during ITS European Congress 2019, which was held from 3rd to 6th of June 2019 in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
The SIS38 “Infrastructure-assisted vehicles: from security requirements and software architectures to implementation solutions” took place on 5 June 2019 at 14:30-15:30 in Neptune Room. The session was focused on shedding light on the so-far V2I advances and business opportunities, but at the same time, to highlight the involved security and safety challenges considering new requirements for privacy and personal-data protection. The discussion benefited from contributions by experts, among them there were experts working in the H2020 projects SAFERtec and INFRAMIX. Especially, concerning SAFERtec, the project’s approach was presented on designing an agile assurance framework to counter threats and ensure protected communications.
The SIS35 of the ITS European congress, “Trust and Security – enablers for digital infrastructure and cooperative systems in Europe” took place on 5 June 2019 at 13:00-14:00 in Sun Room. The session addressed the topic of the certification and validation of the ITS systems within the scope of the C-ITS delegated act. Two presentations including SAFERtec’s one presented innovative ways to provide high level of assurance for the critical elements of C-ITS solutions. It has also been presented how the new SAFERtec’s approach also handles assurance at the system level. That presentation has been followed by an EU commissioner reminder of the C-ITS delegated act implementation challenges and how such kind of result could greatly ease the C-ITS confidence and deployment. Question and discussion have been raised on how to promote SAFERtec’s results at national and European level to be used in order to fulfill the delegated act assurance requirements.
